Cows milk when out.

So how do u all keep cows milk cold if u have to go out? Formula was easy u just put it in later but cows milk I have no idea

Bella was at least 16 mo when she was on cows milk and then when she was she was only having it morning and night.

Can you just buy a small carton when you need it?

Think that's what I will have to do or just keep with the formula. I thought they were sposed to change to cows at 12mths

You can get UHT milk in smaller cartons - but at 12 months they don't "need" buckets of milk any more either, more food and water.
You can also get a little esky that fits bottles in it with a cold block - they sell super-duper ones for Mums who are expressing, but to be honest you could happily use any foam container and ice pack.

I used to buy the 60ml UHT cartons for Colby.

I buy the Devondale UHT 200ml cartons - they come in a 6 pack at the supermarket, and I just carry one in my nappy bag for when we are out & about for a long period of time. I also keep one in the car for emergencies

Is UHT okay for little ones...just asking as I had never thought about using them and we have a plane trip coming up so that would work well, I was wondering what to do....I think I was going to buy some toddler formula...

My GP recently reccomended I switch DS from formula to cows milk. Lactose free to be exact. It's UHT milk. I've noticed some pretty obvious improvement, but I'm not sure if it was the milk or not at this stage. Time will tell.

I used to take DS's bottles of formula already made up with me when I went out. I'd just pop them in a 'hot/cold bag' and all was good. I actually found an Avent bottle bag designed exactly for this. But you could really use any suitable esky/cool bag type of thing. Also, if it's UHT milk it can be kept at room temperature for quite a while, I believe. Double check that though, I'm no guru.

Yep UHF here too. We used to give X milk before her day sleep and we were often out for that. I'd just squeeze the popper into her straw cup and it worked well

I just bought Chlo a cool drink bottle, its meant to keep drinks cold for 12 hours, tested it out today and it works!! Was a bit exxy at $20 but will come in handy I think. Will send u a pic

We have used UHT a couple times. The devondale 200ml size. Also bought thermos foogoo drink bottle from baby bunting and it's amazing. It will keep drinks icy cold for 12 hrs. Her drink bottle was left in the car for a few hrs on a 35 degree day and when I took a sip the water was still icy.

I have always had mini freezer bricks in a bottle bag to keep DD's cold. Works a treat

We just have a little bottle bag with freezer blocks in it! Ds2 still likes a bottle of milk since he weaned. X

I do the same as Boomba. A small insulated bag with freezer blocks in. I keep her lunch in there as well. She only has three bottles a day, waking, lunch and bed so I only ever have to take out one.

I used to go buy from close by cafe's, including Macca's, when I needed it. They'd warm it up for me too

I got the little uht and he drank that. I've just been to the CHN and she told me I should be taking his bottles away to only 1-2 a day and putting them in a Beaker (pommy peeps and you pls explain what that is)

He won't cope on 1-2 a day

A beaker is a cup. But you just do what is comfortable for you. There is no rule book on how he should drink. Ds2 still has bottles and he is 2.5!
