    Question Dizziness and Bfeeding?

The past couple of days I have been having dizzy spells, sometimes feeling like that for many hours. It's not the same as hunger dizziness and I don't feel sick at all or have a headache. I feel quite woozy especiaally when I am bending over and come up.

I told my SIL and she said that her and some girls in her mum's group all had the same thing and it was because of hormones because of bfeeding so they all switched to formula. Does this sounds right?

    Hi,
The dizzy spells must be quite concerning for you. It might be worth heading off to the Dr to get it checked out.
But, as I have said many times before, just because something happens while you are breastfeeding, doesn't mean it is caused by breastfeeding.
Breastfeeding is a normal state for our bodies to be in - dizzy spells are not.
What a dreadful shame your sisters friends were given such poor information that they were led to stop one of the most important relationships in their lives and something that had such amazing health and psychological benefits for themselves and their babies.
Go and get it checked out and treated if need be, but it is not caused by breastfeeding.

Do you start to feel hot when it starts to happen?
Hope you get it sorted out!

Just wanted to say good on you for asking and not just going off what people think or hear. Well done - you'll be breastfeeding for a long time to come

I've been getting dizzy spells recently too...I don't usually get them and like you, they can last for a few hours.

I've actually put mine down to lack of sleep...not sure it that's right or not...but when I sneak in another hour of sleep, I do feel better.

I've been breastfeeding for nearly 8 months now and they have only started in the last 2 weeks...so I don't think it has anything to do with breastfeeding...

Good luck with breastfeeding...it really is lovely, hey?
