    Default echinacea and breastfeeding

I am feling a cold/flu coming on... if it's the same one my brother and mum have had, it's not going to be pretty and I wanna try knock it on the head!

Is it ok to take echinacea while breastfeeding?

    TIA

I'd think it would be fine, especially given that your baby is a bit older. You can check out the links in the Medications & Breastfeeding thread.

I don't think echinacea has any drying effects, so it should be fine. I stayed away from horseradish, and any of those mixed herbal cold remedies that included drying agents (herbal or not, they still can affect your milk supply). Vit C is okay too.

thanks girls! I ended up tracking down the naturopath that i got them from in the end... she was O/E on a conference. And she said they're fine.
Fingers crossed they stop this thing progressing any further!
