    Food restriction??

While PG there is a huge emphasis on what foods pregnant women cannot eat - raw eggs, deli meats, soft cheese etc etc..

I'm wondering if while Bf'ing if these restrictions should be continued?? I've read some articles now relating to breastfeeding and it talks about diet and discusses eating foods which are not recommended during pregnancy so I'm
    a little confused..

    Can anyone clarify this?
I'd LOVE a ham and salad roll but I've been continuing with the same restrictions I had while pg. Same goes for take away pizza, soft cheese, cold seafood, take away Chinese etc.,

Yep, all fine I avoid caffeine, because newborns take a long time to metabolise it. And the tannins in tea and coffee make my babies chuck. But even that doesn't last forever. Enjoy your ham salad roll!

Yep ham and soft cheese is fine. Pregnancy is very different because the baby is exposed to the same germs as you and some like listeria can cause still birth. In breastfeeding some things cross the milk like chilli and dairy proteins and caffeine, so watch for signs of reaction. Otherwise go for it. Even chilli I avoided of in the early months and caffeine didn't impact dd but did make ds wake in the night (but he was 8 months when I made the connection because he wouldn't go back to sleep at 2am if I'd had tea after 2pm)
