Should ff only babes be on a gold brand? What is a good one that doesn't constipate so much? Thinking of nan gold which had been recommended.
Do you just change or move them over to new formula bit by bit?

I used Novalac Gold for the first 12 months as it was gentler on her belly. We then used Aptamil Gold right up until a week ago.

My ds started on s26 gold because that was what the hospital had, but then we changed him to nan gold, think we did a gradual change but didn't stretch it too much, just over a couple of days, he didn't even notice the change at all but it agreed with me a lot more.

I never bothered with a 'gold' brand, my MCHN advised me that it wasn't even worth the extra $$ for what little 'extras' are in it. Plus, I didn't want to take the risk of constipating my little man. Also as soon as they start some solids at around 6 or so months, they get way more nutrients and vitamins from food than any Gold formula.
S26 was no good for my DS, gave him terrible congestion. We switched to Heinz straight away and had no problems at all.

My DS1 was on Nan Ha from birth to when he could take cows milk. It worked for him. It did give him funny poo colour, army green. He was never constipated on it.

My DD never did well with the gold brands. She used to get terrible constipation- On S26 gold and another gold one (can't remember now) we switched her to Nan Ha and she was great. We just switched her straight over as we figured she was already badly constipated from the Gold stuff so we couldn't muck her up by switching. She stayed on that until 6 months and moved to Heinz which I am currently in the process of replacing with cows milk.
