Hi CathyS,

We have just ordered the Stokke Tripp Trapp. It's expensive but David Jones have a sales at the moment for $287 for the chair and I think we paid $80 for the baby seat and harness. We looked at all the chairs and decided that we wanted dinner to be a social family event hence our DS eating at the table with us. There are some reviews that point out safety. We had a look at the videos on You Tube and then compared our table and were satisifed that the one extreme case wasn't coing to happen to us.

A have a couple of friends that have bought the $48 high chair from Ikea. Simple and easy to clean and ofcourse cheap.

Another friend has the Chicco Polly and she loves it. She said it is easy to clean, has removable top cushions to catch most of the mess. Her little girl sits in it an waits while dinner is being prepared.

The Tripp Trapp isn't designed for having baby waiting in it as the tray is the table (you can buy a separate tray that goes on the dining table aswell). It is easy to clean, Hardwaring and can be used for years (eventually turning in to a normal chair (funky shape mind).

We checked out most chairs and for us it was the social aspect and association with dinner that was most important, then ease to clean and then price. When we were looking most people seemed to tell us to look out for how easy a chair was to clean (seems it could get messy)

Hope this is of help
Ella
