have you weighed yourself pre & post feed?

So just out of curiosity I weighed myself pre & post feed this morning - I hadn't drunk or eaten anything during the feed either, but there was a 500g difference!! Would she really take that much??? I guess she could.. she's 6mo and 97th percentile for weight, and feeds 4 times a day. But still, I was surprised!!

have you ever weighed yourself pre & post feed?

Yep, i have! On weigh in days when i was still BFing i would quite often do a pre weigh and then do a post weigh to try and get my number as low as possible.. cheating i know! I usually saw a difference of 200-300gs, but DS was having more frequent feeds than your DD, and feeding several times through the night so i am not surprised the number is a little smaller, sounds like your DD was having big feeds less frequently.

Yep, about a 100-200g difference, DD is a frequent feeder so they've never filled up much more than that.

Yeah, I did that too one morning, and weighed 400g less.

Well here's a further interesting thought to add to that. On the morning I weighed 500g less (after an 11 minute feed), I then pumped the other side (she only takes one side per feed) and got 170ml in 15 minutes of pumping. How clever are our babies to be able to get all milk, and SO efficiently and quickly!!!

There was a study done in the UK on 6 week old babies and some of them were getting around 240ml in 3 minutes

I dropped 200g in about 2 minutes when I weighed in at Weight Watchers the other day

I did it just this morning, and dropped 500gms after the morning feed! Awesome.
