Julian is just over 11mths now and I still have no sign of AF returning, he was sleeping through the night from 6ish weeks from 5:30pm to 7am and I never got them back. With Cody it was 11 and a half months and I was still b/fing regularly with him, plus I got all crampy again before they arrived so sort of had a sneaking suspsion they were on the way.
AF arrived when DD was 13 1/2 months, we were still feeding overnight up to around 12 months. First one was odd, but second one was basically back to what a normal AF would have been. But I am certain I have been O'ing the last few months as I have had all the signs of O HTH
DOH - I got ripped off, AF returned at 7 weeks for me, I was on the mini pill for a while but my cycle was going haywire so I went off it and now I am back to 28 days
I am still BF regularly - DS has only recently dropped a night feed so up until then I was feeding minimum of 3 hourly
So jealous that most of you have gone months instead of weeks
8 weeks post-baby, almost to the day But then, she's a very good sleeper and was going for a good 6-8 hours overnight between feeds, so I had an inkling it would be back.
With DD1 I was expressing for 6 weeks and I think I got it back after 4 or 5 weeks, because I stopped expressing at night.
Got AF back at 6months and 1 day exactly!! DS still feeds 8-9 times a day and always at least one feed overnight, often two. He is still usually doing a 10-2-6 or 9-1-5 pattern overnight but it does vary. The longest sleep he's ever done was 9 hours last Friday night but AF was already well and truly here. It totally sucks as we are not looking to TTC #2 for sometime yet. I agree with earlier posters, CM and cramps were definite warning signs for me.
Shanti - I hope that you get AF back right when you want her to arrive!! Not too early and not too late
Wow!! Such a variance in replies! As i suspected..... goes to show everyone really IS different huh!
We're still having 1 or 2 night feeds per night (usually only 1) and DD feeds 5-6 times during the day too on average.... has 3 solids meals a day too.
I'm happy AF hasn't returned..... she's a pain in the butt
Just hope I'm fertile again by the time we wanna try!!! but in saying that, it happens when it is meant to I guess but we aren't trying now!!! I'm busy enough with 1 little monkey for now....
my AF returned 6months after DD birth. This was 6weeks after we introduced solids and she was still having 1 overnight feed plus about 5 day feeds (i think, it's been a while).
The first AF and cycle after was a bit funny and longer but then everything went back to being normal timing. One benefit I did find was the terrible AF pain I had before conceiving didnt return! Yay!
17 months with DD1, she was a monster feeding and not hugely interesed in food. 16 months with DD2, she likes her food, but still likes a breastfeed. I did think AF was going to start much earlier with her (had some spotting), but she ramped up her feeding.
3 months here unfortunately First cycle was 28 days but the last couple have only been around 20 days. We're still feeding anywhere from 1-3 times over night and about 2.5-3hrly during the day.
I guess I was lucky. I BF for 11 months and it returned a week after my milk disappeared....Took 3 weeks for my milk to dry up then I got my period back on DS's first birthday!! Lol. Ironic really.
AF has only just returned for me, the last couple months. Although it is not regular at all and it's spotting/bleeding all over the place. jack is almost 17 months, but I am still Breastfeeding and also have the Mirena IUD in which can also affect AF.
I actually just had Blood Tests (hormone tests) as I was a little concerned about all the random spotting etc...The Doctor told me today that I have just had a "really good ovulation". Whatever that means, LOL.
