Hi all,

Just thought I'd share this one

I dropped ds off at daycare this morning and was a bit miffed to see a whole display box of free samples of the Nestle Nan toddler formula. I wasn't going to say anything, then thought "Stuff it".

So, after depositing ds in his daycare room, I stopped to have a chat to the women on the desk, explaining that it bothered me a bit, having those samples there. She asked why, and I gave her a brief rundown on Nestle/third world, Nestle/orang utans and the general evils of toddler formula (as in, it fills them up so they won't eat at all). Another mum who as in the lobby jumped in to say she had given it to her oldest son, on doctors advice, and he had actually lost weight because he wouldn't eat.

I really expected them to just fob me off as a nutjob. Didn't. The woman in reception went and got the manager, and I went through the same thing with her.

And the outcome? The box has been removed, pending a discussion by centre management I actually think it will probably go back up, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. It's not there right now to suck in unsuspecting mummies, and that makes me happy.
