It's been 36 hours since Annika had a syringe feed. Everything since then has been 100% pure boobie! I cannot believe how well she is going!!

And at the GP today when asked if she was having bottle or breast... so happy to say breast!

I do have a question - re using nipple shields with flat nipples. I do find the first 10-15 seconds are EXCRUCIATINGLY painful. I assume this is as the nipple is drawn up & out. My LC also thinks it's because the tissues behind the nipple aren't used to being stretched. Once the nipple is drawn out, then we're fine and getting less sore each feed. Plus the nipples are looking awesome after the feeds, they're actually looking so good and well drawn out (never have they looked so big!) that I want to take a picture of them . So I guess I was wondering if the extreme pain at the start of the feed is typical or whether there is anything I can do to minimise it?
