I've asked for a lot of help on here with lots of questions about breastfeeding so I think I should give some feedback on how we are going.
A little background info - Anthony I obviously never got to feed, Claire I fed for about a month but gave up due to agonising pain, cracked nipples and blisters which i was unaware at the time was due to poor attachment and Bellah was the same.
During my pregnancy I was determind to breastfeed although I knew it would be a challenge with twins.
I am happy to report at 5 weeks old (3 weeks being breastfed due to first 2 weeks having to be tube fed) we are going fantastically.
We have no attachment issues this time, both boys latch on very well, if anything to well they feed ALL the time but its a great feeling.
The boys are gaining weight well and im doing it!
A lot of people set me up to fail, for example when my doula (dedicated_mummy) went into a local pharmacy to enquire about breastpumps for when i was discharged and needing to express for the boys who were still in hospital. The lady in there was asking about my previous breastfeeding history and knew i was having twins said to my doula "oh, she wont do it" well to the lady we ARE doing it and LOVING it!
So if anyone is reading this and have not succeeded before hope is not lost, i couldnt feed singletons but now powering on with twins even slowly getting the hang of feeding them at the same time. It can be done! Now I have a new mission in life to help people who were in my position and help them gain the confidence to achieve there goals
