DD2 loves her (.)(.) and i have never had a problem with her refusing to feed, even when she's teething she might be a litlte fussy but not to the point of NOT feeding.
Last night she was a little off, wouldn't feed kept biting my nipple and laughing about it, i put her in her bed thinking she was over tired maybe she would just go to sleep.. left her for about 5min nope sooking to herself so i got her out, THEN she toko the boob and fell asleep.
This morning she woke at 6 i got up, bought her to bed and went to offer her the boob she refused, i have been trying on and off since then and NOTHING, she wont take it.
She does feel a little warm and she's been chewing everything but she got 4 teeth in a week last week and i didn't have any issues.
Could it be teething, could it be something else i should watch out for?
I have put her to bed now, will see what she does and offer again when she wakes, i might try and express a little and if she wont take it will see if i can offer it to her in a cup or something.
It's been probably 12hrs since her last BF... should i be worried?
She had toast this morning and seemed to eat ok but has been a little cuddly.
Hope she's not getting sick.. it's so unlike her to NOT want the boob.
My DS went through a faze at 9 months and then at a year old... I wouldn't be too worried, we breastfed until 22 months and two weeks and then only had to wean because I needed a serious course of antibiotics myself
I'm hoping it's just something little.. it's not like her at all, even when she's been unwell she's never refused the boob.
She's in bed now and would you know it i can't find the handle to my breast pump
She was a bit warm this morning so will take her temp a little after she's woken and see how she is, will try water and might have to hadn express to get some milk into her... my poor girl.
She's normally such a pig, especially her morning feed... no idea whats wrong.
It's probably her teeth hun. Jack has done that a couple of times too, and he's usually the one sticking his head down my shirt every two hours.
I'd probably try some panadol and see if that gives her some releif. She will want it again eventually, they always do!
Gave her panadol before bed, poor think only slept 20min and is back up.. i near on had to force her to the boob, she was on for about 2min and off again not wanting the other side... sooo not like her.
She still feels a bit hot, will let her body settle after her sleep and check her temp....

How is she today, hun? It sounds like refusal because she's unwell, rather than teeth. You could try bfing her when she's sleepy, but otherwise I'd recommend calling the ABA and talking to a bfing counsellor.
Thanks ladies, she's basically back to normal so i think she was just not feeling great.. it's still VERY unlike her, even when she's been unwell my boobs are her comfort as she doesn't take a dummy.
Maybe it's showing she is becoming an independant little lady
She's still only taking 1 side of her morning feed but she's attached for a while and very efficient so i think she's ok.

Refusing the Breast
Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but at least you know if it does it's only short-term.
