Reusable breast pad recommendations

So hit me with your recommendations - including pros and cons and any other helpful comments....

I have the Avent ones with a fleecy cotton one side and a lace back. Love them as they look pretty but they are not for hard core leakages as I discovered with DD2. Also have some Nature's Child, thick ones and normal ones, they are good enough but the thick ones feel a bit bulky in my bra especially with engorged breasts. I'm having to wear disposable ones overnight as these don't cut the mustard for nighttime at the moment and am changing up to 5 times a day- but DD2 is only 12 days old so my milk is still in overproduction mode.

You might not need them. I mean I did. Whoa, I really did. But I do know of people whose breasts just seemed to never go crazy like mine did.
So don't overinvest initially.
But have an idea - good to do your research and maybe have one pair and then get more if/when you need them.

I like the miomee ones they were thin and not bulky but a lot more coverage than oithers so it was ok if they moved around a bit but I wasn't able to find any reusable one that were absorbent enough if I had too much milk so I could use reusable a until 6 months when dd weaned down to half feeds and half bottles

I loved the Avent ones too - not only pretty, but also thick, which meant I just about fitted the smallest nursing bras I could find. (Yeah, apparently you grow to more than an A-cup with pg/bf.) I had 12 of those and 12 of another brand, that were thinner and not as pretty, but cheaper and as absorbant. I washed every other day - couldn't not, with cloth nappies and a spewy baby!

I found the stick-on Lilypad ones useful, but not at the start. They were good for later on when I really couldn't leak for a bit, but I wouldn't do them full-time.

So... Is reusable and washable the same thing or different?? Didn't occur to me that there might be some disposable ones that you can reuse... But having looked up the lilypadz ones they seem to be throw away after a while..?

I would have thought reusable and washable were almost interchangable. Disposable to me means one-use.

Lilypadz for me worked for about 6m, then the stickiness wasn't perfect but they were still OK. They are not washing machine suitable though.

I used a combo of the avent ones and these bamboo waterproof ones i got off ebay.

I have very leaky boobs so had to use the avent on top of the waterproof bamboo ones.

I used lambswool ones and they were FAB!!! Super absorbant but so nice against horribly sore nipples

Yes I would only get a few - I probably only really needed for about two weeks - after that I had occasional leaks but I really didn't like any of the ones I had (a few Avent and a couple of bamboo of some sort) - so stopped wearing them - and just lived with the leak (there wasn't anything wrong with the ones I had - it was just I didn't like the feel of something extra in my bra (but I don't do well with nail varnish, or wearing rings, so maybe I am a bit strange))
