Kids generally love melon flavour. You could even try chopping it up in sticks and give it to him to suck chew on.
The other good thing about melon is it's hard enough to chop into sticks and soft enough for them to try and bite into it.
watermelon should be fine, it's mostly water anyway (just be prepared for mess! DD had some after lunch today and i had to change her pants. Lol).
Not sure about rockmelon, I don't like it so don't really know how hard/soft it is...but it should be fine.
If you have made the decision to start solids already, then melon is fine. I agree with a PP that giving it as a finger food is a good idea. Have you read the thread on Baby Led Solids? It might be something you are interested in trying, and there are lots of benefits both for your DD and yourself.
I agree, if she is on solids, the melon is fine (DH fed DS rockmelon as one of his 1st foods)
Just don't panic the morning after watermelon when you see red in the poo. I was all prepared to be sending DS of to the dr thinking he had blood in his poo, till he did another one, and I realised it was watermelon![]()
No worries hun. I thought about doing it last night but I was just too tired!
