DD is now 13mths old and the last couple of weeks has really been protesting every time we put her in her highchair for her mealtime. She arches her back, screams etc.... so if she carries on we just put her down and she eats on the floor (from a plastic bowl or plate). There is no point trying to win with a toddler who is like that is there?
sometimes she'll eat while on the floor but most of the time she'll just go off and play and we'll say "don't you want any more food to eat?" and she'll say "nup" and go off and play!!very frustrating.... but what else can we do? If she doesn't want to eat we can't make her can we?
And, other times of the day if I'm offering her a snack or even lunch, is it okay for me to just place it in front of her while she's on the floor playing? I say to her "would you like some lunch, here you go" so she knows it's there and it's up to her if she's hungry to have some. Is that okay to do? OR should I be still putting her in the highchair EVERY mealtime?
Any advice? Ideas? Thank you!!

) but MIL has a booster seat for normal chair that DD sits quite happily in so I'm going to try and get one of those and start having meals up at the table all the time.

we got it given as a gift at the baby shower and just put it away as I wanted the Ikea one and DD looked too small for it until now.

I think being a parent teaches us a lot about thinking outside of the square and flexibility
