    Solids & constipation?

DD2 has started on solids and she LOVES them, other than that she is fully BF but she has only been using her bowels every 2nd or 3rd day, sometimes up to every 5th day.
I know this is 'normal' for BF babies but normally she goes after every feed, the only times she didn't she would not go for up to 5 days and that was generally when having a growth spurt (only realised cos she fed MORE and poo'd less)

SOOO what can i do for her, her rice cereal is made with only water (no formula) her dinner is mixed with water to thin it a little, i really need to drink a little more water myself again (used to drink HEAPS).

With DD1 she had gone on the bottle so was already having some water aswell, i started giving Z some water out of a bottle this morning and will see how we go but is there anything else i can do for her, she has been quite grumpy lately and i think this may be why.

She does the stinkiest farts but nothing else afterwards...

goignt o try some pear at lunch today, tried cheating with tin apples the other day to see what she would do and she didn't like them, was hoping to stay away from the sweet stuff until she got more used to veg but she seems to enjoy veg so i guess it doesn't matter

Hi, I believe that it is ok to go a few days without a poo and not considered constipation unless the poo is little hard pellets, as long as it is a softish consistency it should be ok, best of luck xx

you are giving her farex/rice cereal? the fortified iron can bind them up. Pears are a good option or mash up a prune into the cereal. Have you thought about giving her some steamed vegies BLS style?

I found bananas would bind DS up too if I wasn't careful

Thanks everyone, she is having Rafferty's Garden rice cereal at the moment and then Pumpkin & Potato for tea.
Gave her some apples & pear for lunch today and will try pear over the next couple of days.
Have tried some carrot BLS but she keeps gagging on it and spitting it out, she did eat some pear though so she is slowly getting the hang of it.
Am doing a mix of both just due to my laziness really.

I know with BF babies it's ok for them to go a couple of days etc but her farts STINK and she seems a bit grizzly so i am just HOPING her little body gets used to solids etc soon.
