was having a preggy brain moment - but i cant even blame it on that as MJ has been here for amost 6mths and AF is here lol... i did know the name of the reflex, just couldnt find it in my clogged up brain... you were right marcellus thanks
i just call it the tongue thrust reflex... alex lost it about a month before we started.
i honestly think we could have waited a bit longer for solids but now that i see him with it im glad we started.
so far alex is really enjoying cheese sandwiches and pumpkin. any veges seem to go down really well, thank goodness as his father hardly eats them!

I dont think its necessary they start chewing before they get teeth. they dont need to have teeth, you will find they sort of just like to suck and mucnch and spit it out after getting it all over their face to begin with anyway
Hi Shoegal, I read that someone's bub gummed her apple, skin & all no teeth, which is how she knew they were ready for solids. So no they don't need teeth. They were from BB but can't remember where - nappy brain I think they call it.
