    Weaning toddler off bottles

My 23 month old is currently having 2 bottles of milk a day - Before her afternoon nap and when she goes to bed at night.
I generally give her the bottles and leave her to drink them and fall asleep by herself.
I know it will probably be easy for me to give her milk in a cup instead of a bottle and get rid of the bottles altogether, but what happens if she wont go to sleep without a bottle? How can I teach her to drink her milk before she goes to bed and then just go to bed? Or, should I try in preparation for TT to not give her any milk right before bed?

How did you wean your toddler off the bottle? How old were they? How long did it take?

Could you insert something into the middle of the two activities (bottle then bed)?

Finish the bottle, then brush teeth, then read a story, then into bed? Maybe introduce just one first, then a second thing, then as the gap between the bottle and bed widens, one day just jump straight to brushing teeth (from the bath or whatever is before bottle)?

This is just an idea I haven't tried as I'm not in that position yet with DS2. DS1 came off the bottle when he was very ill for a few days and only able to sip from a cup for that time, so I figured he hadn't had a bottle for 3ish days, why bring it back?

    I hope this made sense?

Makes sense. I'm trying to remember to get DD to brush her teeth while she's in the bath. She loves brushing her teeth and in the mornings if she comes into the bathroom while I'm doing my teeth, hair & make-up, she'll point to the toothbrush and say "brush teeth"
I'll try sitting in her room and reading a story to her while she's having her bottle. We used to put the TV on in her room and set the timer, but we decided to stop doing that at bedtime about 3 weeks ago.

I think after her 2nd birthday I'll start making little changes to her bedtime routine to get her off the bottle.
