When did you stop boiling drinking water?

    Hi there,

Lachlan is nearly one and i was wondering when it would be ok to stop boiling his drinking water. He drinks water throughout the day from his cup but i have absolutely no idea at what age i can stop boiling it??

    What did you guys do??

I have to be honest, I only boiled drinking water for the first few months.

(When Olivia was a baby we lived in Darwin. It was so hot and Olivia drank so much water, I ended up just going with tap water...........)

I still boiled water for bottles of formula though...........(no idea why really, thinking about it!)

With low water supplies I am still boiling post 12 months. There has been a dramatic rise in gastro illnesses in our area which may be due to the water and I am not comfortable not boiling just yet!!

Around six months we stopped boiling water, but then ds hardly ever had it before then anyway. As far as I am aware they actually need the fluoride that they get from tap water.
