I've been lurking in your thread again and I'm so proud and excited for you and what you are achieving. I can't wait to see each night how you are going and was so surprised and pleased for your 9ml. Thank you for being so open and sharing your journey with us.
WOOHOO MEL...8 pages in this thread shows we are all excited over your efforts! It was only a few days ago that you were getting less than half of that. You are doing a FANTASTIC job, keep it up. Have you thought about taking Fenugreek to try and boost up your supply quicker? Not sure if it would work now, I'm still on it and I'm pretty sure its still working for me. You seem to be increasing pretty quickly anyway so maybe you don't need anything extra.

Yeh, i agree with Tannis, if we all weren't interested, inspired and cheering you on, this thread would have never gotten to 8 pages long (so far) - and that's not counting the lurkers!
so yes, petal, you ARE very inspirational!
yo're doing something a little out of the ordinary, and you're also prepared to put your own experience "out there", so in SO many ways, you totally rock Gudi!
and this applies no matter how long you do it. If you stopped today, i would STILl say, "YOU TOTALLY ROCK".
i get excited WITH you for every millilitre you express, it IS exciting.
i BF 24/7 and i struggle to get to 30ml (hand expressing) the few times i have attempted it, so all power to you!
but aside from all the hooplah, how are you feeling about
- finding the time of day (that suits you) to actually do the expressing?
- have you found a particular time when you are "fuller"?
- has the chest pain decreased?
- do you give M all the BM at once, or syringe by syringe? do you notice any difference in her reactoin e.g bwn drinkign your milk and Formula - do you think she can tell the diff?
my DD giggles and makes very happy noises when she knows it's feed time - took us ages to get to that stage, but gee it' does make me feel good.
finding the time of day (that suits you) to actually do the expressing? it is hard to find time, especially with DS running around. Somehow bringing the pump out signifies its time to be a complete pain in the butt
- have you found a particular time when you are "fuller"? I find myself noticing a difference about an hour after expressing - just a bit of tightness I suppose? It's subtle, but I can notice it. If its been about 4 hours then it gets a little uncomfortable.
- has the chest pain decreased? Still got chest pain - but its like at the base near my ribs... so not sure what that is....
- do you give M all the BM at once, or syringe by syringe? do you notice any difference in her reactoin e.g bwn drinkign your milk and Formula - do you think she can tell the diff? I don't think she can tell the difference at the moment unfortunately!! I have heaps of syringes, so have been storing up like a day - day and a halfs worth - and then giving it to her in a bottle - so its more like milk - and less like having medicine - if you know what i mean? makes me feel better...
So today's efforts have been:-
Morning express with DS being a pain - 3ml
Mid morning with DS in bed - 7ml
Need to do it again - can feel mrs right side getting a bit uncomfortable especially!!! DS is up though so probably won't be worth the effort!!!

hope all my questions didn't make you feel like you were getting the 3rd degree Gudi! my intent was to show interest in what you are doing, not just applaud you - but i looked at all those questions TODAY adn thought OMG why did i ask SO MANY things!!! poor Gudi!!! so sorry, for being too full of questions!
i find breastfeeding a very PHYSICAL thing to do, and expressing, very physical too. I sure don't think it is an EASY thing to do.
Mel, I have to dash, but I just wanted to say, don't give up hope, you're doing a fabulous job. We've all had those moments, some of us many times over. Just know that you're doing a fabulous thing for your little girl You're a superstar mummy!
You know, I have been super busy in the last few days, and will be this week too, so I don't have much time at all on BB...........BUT I've been logging on once or twice a day, just to read this thread! I don't have a lot of time to respond ATM, but please know that I'm so excited for you, and interested, and I'm following your goings on, even if I'm not posting If you have any specific questions, JUST ASK!
Janie - I have been doing 10 mins both sides - then going back for another 5 minutes. really I could sit there for longer cos milk is still coming out but can't sit with my boob out all day .. things to do, places to be.. lol
So i do have a question - is my 15 minutes each side sufficient, or should I be fully draining them??
I just got a record haul too with my last express...
