It sounds like you are going through a rough period. Usually thrush clears up quickly when treated - I think that it is very likely that what you have now is not thrush (it may have been so initially, but probably isn't now) It might be good to go back to see an LC at this point.
Early breastfeeding can be tough - it really is worth persisting, and it really does get better. Mothers don't have to "pu up" with discomfort. It is likely that you have had other challenges in your life - learning to drive a car for intance. Remember how difficult that seemed? How you kangaroo hopped down the road? Now I bet you don't give it another thought. It will be the same with breastfeeding soon. But you do need the right support (just like you needed quite a few driving lessons) before it just became second nature.
