    Another question....

You would think I would have this booby stuff down pat by now but I have a question still
DD is 15 1/2 months and has 3 BFs a day. Generally 4-5am, lunch and bedtime. She is just having a very quick feed at lunch and Im wondering if its time for that feed to go. I ask because DD has only ever 'asked' to be fed on a handlful of occassions and I have always had to offer for her to show any interest. Is she big enough to only be having 2 feeds?
Also how old are bubbas before milk is not 'required' iykwim?

    TIA

I think it's between you and your baby how many feeds she has in a day. There are no real rules itms? You could try not offering for a day and see what she does. It sounds like you guys have just gotten into a routine so she doesn't have to ask, it's just there at the same time (and place?) every day. Eventually if she really doesn't want that lunch time feed, she will just refuse it.

WHO recommends that breast milk is part of a baby's diet up to and beyond 2 years old. I think you've done an amazing job btw. Breast milk/breast feeding is still beneficial to both of you at this stage.

We dropped the middle of the day feed not long past your DD's age. If she isn't asking, I would say there's no need to offer.

As Kaz says, the WHO recommends bfing until two years of age and then for as long as mother and child want it. Different children wean at different ages. At no point does breastmilk stop being good. Actually, the immunological benefits are just packed into the remaining bfs, once she isn't feeding often. My DD kept having her two bfs a day until 3 1/2 and then her final one for another 6 mths, so she might not give up those last two feeds for a while!

Kaz, I think you are so right!! It is more of a routine than an actual need I think because if we are out and about she couldnt care less about having a feed. thanks so much for the vote of confidence

Jennifer13, I see what you mean she may very well not lose those last 2 feeds for some time thank you for sharing about your DD, its nice to know that if she does stop having that lunch feed it wont be of 'harm' to her ywim. I had no idea abou the immunological benefits being packed in either!!! Geez, how clever are boobies
