yeah i have been reading loads! the first thing the hossy wanted to do was to send her to a paed surgeon to have it cut. i asked to wait and some reading first. from what i have read we will go the route of cranio-osteopathy and tongue exercises first. alot of the medical literature spoke of these two things working well. so marta is seeing the osteo today for the first time!! will let you know how it floats...
i chose not to snip yet, as although the feeding is fussy and attachment after the first few minutes goes out the window (we also get "fluttering"). she is gaining well and feeds are short. the LC did say however that it is not uncommon for the condition to be signified by looong frustrating feeds and low weight gain. and if H has a high palate it is worth checking for TT and importantly, posterior as it is sometimes tricky to diagnose...
