Best Reason to Stop Breastfeeding

The size difference from before you get pregnant to however far they stretch, yeah. Age and genetics etc will also play a part of course, but whether you breastfeed or not is not a determinant.

I actually KNOW of a woman who stopped BF her son at 8 weeks because her GP or MCHN told her it was the reason her baby was up all night crying ..... despite the fact he was gaining weight and having the wet nappy ratio and no SR or anything like that checked into it was just because she was BF.

My first paed (an awful guy) told me I had to stop breastfeeding (at 6 weeks) cause "I was making my baby sick" and d"on't even think about talking to anyone from the ABA as they dont know what they are talking about, I'm the specialist with training". My baby had reflux - she just needed some meds! ahhh, and people wonder why I ended up with PND!

Yeah he was a real tool! He also wouldn't fill in the forms for a sleep school months later when I was at my wits end - he said "if you cant get your baby to sleep what makes you think they can?"!! I came out sobbing and drove to my nearest health clinic, they couldn't even understand what I was saying cause I was so upset - needless to say I got into the sleep school within 24 hours - they could sense how desperate I was. Still makes my blood boil!

I wanted to write a letter of complaint for months afterwards and I wrote down everything he said to me over the space of 6 months but then I just thought too much time has passed, and I am seeing a very understanding paed now. Someone has since told me the only way that doc gets patients is after he sees them when they are in the hosp and he says they have clicky hips. The only reason I kept seeing him was because my dd did have hip dysplasia and I didn't want to get lost in the system waiting months to get into another paed. I was lucky that at our last appoint when I ran sobbing out of there he had told me her hips were good.

Razzberry - that is awful!! Please make the complaint. Is this dr still treating people?? He should not be allowed to say the things he said to you. Please don't let him continue destroying mums' confidence and possibly babies' health with his stupid ideas. Make the complaint!!!

I was told that I should wean my son because my daughter wouldn't be getting enough. I could only laugh because my daughter is a little chubby princess, and I'm also expressing and donating milk to other babies. But apparently I don't make enough? Lol!

To revive an old thread, I was told the other month that

breastfeeding my 18month old DS still is the reason he bites........ hmmmm, two weeks later his ff cousin was biting but no comment was made....

Urgh. The things some people say (can they possibly believe this crap?)! It's so sad

I expressed concern to DS's old GP about his slow weight gain when he was about 10 months old. He basically told me that he (DS) seemed fine but I should put him on formula anyway, just to be sure. Uh, no I don't think so.

Then we found a new GP.

Razzberry- I agree you should complain, it's so wrong that he is telling mothers that kind of thing, he shouldn't be practising.
