So yesterday i was wearing a bra that was a bit too tight which i meant to take off once the washing was done, but of course I forgot and fell asleep in it. At about 4 this morning I remembered and took it off but it seems the damage has already been done, my right breast is very tender down one side and underneath. I've been feeding DS off this breast all morning, using a heat pack and trying to massage out the lump but it doesn't seem to be any better, once I have fed DS one side is soft but the blocked side remains hard and tender. Just wondering, if I keep all of this up how long it will take for the blockage to clear?

I've had blockages that have taken 2-3 days to clear. After a few feeds it seems better, though still tender, but then the lump returns.
Definately keep an eye on things and go to docs if any other symptoms appear.
You can also try feeding on your hands and knees, to use gravity on your side. that seemed to help a bit the last time this happened to me. DS really got a kick out of that too.
Mine took about 2 days. I was feeding from that side first each time and using heat back before and cool packs after. I also did some gentle massage and hand hand expressing in the shower.
I usually jump in the shower & just express like mad!! Directing the warm water on the area seems to help. Alternate between expressing & massaging.
I've spent 20 minutes in the shower if I know it's the only chance I'll get (with DH working, DS needing me etc). Usually that does the trick for me, along with feeding DS on that side first.
My worst one took nearly 24 hours. I expressed (pump and by hand), massaged in a warm shower, fed DS first from that side at each feed, using a heat pack and eventually it cleared. I called the ABA and they said if it hadn't cleared in 24 hours that it might be an idea to see a Dr.
