Can low milk supply change the second time?

    Hey, I have two questions:
    01. If with the first baby I had low milk supply, would I have the same problem with the second one?
    02. If I get pregnant while still breastfeeding my son while having low milk supply, would it grow for the second baby or stay low??

First of all, well done for persevering with breastfeeding when you have low milk supply! Many would have given up and just gone fully to formula, and not even wanted to attempt it with the second baby. Good job!

I'm not a professional, just another low milk supply mummy. I know how heartbreaking it can be.

It all depends on the cause of the low supply. Do you know if you have insuffient glandular tissue? Were there any complications with your sons birth? Under active thyroid? Other hormonal issues?

I'm not sure about breastfeeding in pregnancy, as I had to stop at six months. I do know the pregnancy hormones can diminish supply or affect the taste of the milk, so it is a common time for weaning.

Perhaps call the ABA or find a lactation consultant near you who can assess and put together a care plan for you. That will ensure that breastfeeding bubby two gets off to the best start possible.

    All the best!
