Can I use a plug in car bottle warmer for a bottle of ebm? I know it can't be microwaved but was unsure about this. Should I just take a bottle of hot water and a sealable container? It would probably be quicker.
Thanks

We would travel to DP's folks home, a 2 & 1/2hrs drive about every 6wks up til now - our daughter is now 2yrs old![]()
All the time she had formula, I would fill 2 x bottles with boiling hot water out of the kettle & pop into an Avent twin bottle holder moments before we would leave for the journey
Also I would put her formula milk powder in a Avent sealed divided container.
The water would be nice & warm (of course not hot) by about an 1hr to 1.5hrs depending on whether the temperature outdoors was a hot or cold day![]()
When it was a hot day I would pop in a little bottle of cold water, whether to add to the water if too hot OR to cool her down with a bit of water (though that was when she was about 6mths).
Hope that's helped some![]()
You acn always take a thermos of hot water. This has the advantage of you being able to control how hot the bottle gets as well as a container for the bottle to sit in while warming.
We did a trip from Toowoomba to Melbourne via Adelaide and Canberra when Cooper was 3 months old and the thermos worked a treat.
We had one of these but it wasn't very efficient and we didn't use it a lot because of that. I think the thermos is probably a better idea - the car warmer sounds like a good idea in thoery but in practice was a bit of a gimmick and waste of money.
I'm pretty sure it is safe to heat EBM that way, but I've also heard that they take FOREVER to warm the bottle up. I think you're better off with hot water too.
thanks. It was a gift, I probably wouldnt have brought one myself, especially as it takes 15mins to heat it. I will take it but probably use the thermos. I have a large easiyo jar which will be perfect for holding bottle and water. Provided ican find the thermos that is![]()
