I know they say a breastfed baby cant get consipated but im almost positive mine is. He is cranky and upset, keeps pulling his legs up and screams when he farts He hasnt done a poo for 3 days now which generally wouldnt worry me but with the other symptoms it does.
He has maybe 1 tbsp - 2 tbsp of foods for tea at night, nothing which should constipate him so im not sure why he would be?
Constipation is hard, dry pellet like stools. Whilst babies are recieving only breastmilk it is extremely unlikely that they will be constipated. However, the problems your little one is experiencing seem to have occured since the introduction of food. It is a big change to the system - and might take a little time for his system to get used to the new regime. He is quite young, so you may wish to give him a break from food for a couple of weeks and try it again, or persist, depending on the severity of the problem.
Try breastfeeding your baby a little more - the breastmilk will get things moving along. You might also try solids in the morning rather than the evening so he doesn't experience these problems at bedtime.
