My little girl has had tummy issues since she was a couple of weeks old. I think it is a combination of mild reflux and colic. Slowly, i have been finding things that have helped to make feedings more comfortable for her.
* changing positions in feeding
* lots of burping/dewinding
* slowing down flow
* putting breaks in feeding
* cutting dairy from my diet
* sitting her up after feeds
* baths/nappy free time
* infants friend
At the beginning she would scream after every feed for long periods of time, but now it is not every feed and not for as long. Still working on why some feeds are worse than others.
Tonight, i worked out that she gets more upset after feeding from the left side. When sitting up i usually do the cradle hold. I recall reading somewhere that sometimes the way bub lies (right or left side down) can affect wind production or how wind gets stuck. So, i fed her on the left side using football hold so her right arm was up, and i think she was more settled. I will try this again tomorrow for all her feeds.
Anyone else find baby's right arm up better for bub?
