alleycat, when bfing it is best to avoid anything that dries up your nose, as it works on all body fluids including breastmilk. There are some natural things you can take. I found the Brauers nasal spray worked really well, and also the garlic and horseradish - I think Nyal made some natural tablets that worked well for me.

I hope you feel better soon hun.

I had a cold a month or so ago and I was sipping Lemsip Max, it worked really well for me - just don't use the decongestant one though, as MR said it is not recommended whilst breastfeeding. I hope you feel better soon.

*snort* ease, you say. Practically rules out every effective over-the-counter remedy as virtually all of them have decongestants. Colds when breastfeeding are sent to test us.

You're basically down to ye olde basics your grandmother used. Lemon and honey (if you have a sore throat, put some liquid panadol or mash a soluble painkiller in it), head over a steaming bowl of water, Vicks, chicken soup, and really keeping up the fluids. And aloe vera tissues!

I just bought something similar cuz I am also coming down with a cold and a cough... not doing anything for the cough obviously... but it has panadol and something else in it that is safe to have while pregnant and bf... haven't noticed anything different with milk supply and have been taking it for two days.
