    Hiccups after feeds

So I'm still only 6 days into BF, and I'm finding quite regularly after feeds that DD gets the hiccups.

Is there a way to try and stop this happening (I.e. Is there something I'm doing wrong?), or are some babies just more prone to hiccups?

Could she be taking in too much air? Maybe its time to check to see if she is latching on well enough?

Some babies are very prone to hiccups and it doesn't seem to trouble them.
More sucking (either boob or finger) can help.

Both of mine had the hiccups constantly in the womb and during the first 12 weeks or so. They hiccuped during and after feeding - I put it down to both being greedy eaters and eating too fast (lol)

My DD hiccuped a lot in the womb and once she was out, until around 12 weeks or so when things calmed down all round.

I think it's pretty normal with newborns and hiccups don't bother babies like they do us adults so your LO shouldn't be feeling any discomfort.

As for stopping them, I'm not sure there is much you can do. Like I said, my DD just seemed to outgrow her hiccup attacks She was demand BF too.
