With such good results alluring to a "fire hose" I'm hoping these will fix my problem!
After having nothing but dramas in one field or another for either myself or our little one since she was born...my milk supply is almost non-existant since I've had the flu (now disappearing) so fingers crossed I can at least turn in to a garden hose :)
im making these again tonight as the first time id just stopped expressing so couldnt tell if they worked or not
I baked the cookies over the weekend....wish I could say I got to eat all of them but I had to wrestle with my lovely other half and the surrogate Uncle of the house. I did still eat a fair portion of the ones I baked but haven't noticed any change in my supply at all........just wondering if any one else has come across this or if I'm just an entire odd ball :)
I eat two per day if I need boosting. Today I ate 4. Just because they're yum. I always boost my fluid intake too though, and keep baby pinned to the boob all day.
I also read somewhere that having baby next to your boobs all day - in a sling or similar - can help too.
Apple cinnamon variation:
Use 1 tsp cinnamon instead of vanilla
Use 1/2 cup chopped dried apple and 1/2 cup sultanas. I also added 2 tbsp stewed apple, just because I had it there. Lovely and moist. Boobs spraying as usual.
I finally got around to cooking some last night! Can anyone say "yummy!!!!"? I might add some more choc chips to the leftover mix though, it didn't seem quite enough to satisfy my chocolate addiction :p
Sent from my iPhone so forgive the speelung misstacks ;)
Yeah, my mum says "Ive never known anyone to say there were too many chocolate chips in that cookie" - so she always puts in double
I'll be making some tonight. Interested to see how they work. The hardest thing will be making sure I don't eat the whole lot at once.
try them with cranberries and white chocolate :D
and apparently they work harder if you eat the dough raw ... I found it pretty gross raw, but it did seem to help.
and fenugreek pills or tea, and fennel tea too - fennel tea is delish!
Subbing for the receipe :)
Tori-Ella, have you noticed a difference yet? It took 24 hours for me to notice. I am not a huge milk producer myself, but I do notice a slight increase after eating these cookies.
These cookies are SO yum! I cant stop eating them. Its such a bad thing as they are definately very fattening!
Also I have heard that porridge (made out of rolled oats not quick oats) sprinkled with flaxseed and brewers yeast for brekky also does the job. I will be trying this from tomorrow and will let you all know. :)
Are these ok to eat while pregnant (and breastfeeding)?
Do they store well? I would like to make some and send them to a friend interstate, do you reckon they would be ok in an air tight container?
ta
just bear in mind that the raw dough has raw eggs, for the preggers ladies. That's a small risk of bacterial nasties (salmonella, etc). But eating the cookies is fine.
Ahh, good one Jenn. I use egg replacer, so didn't think of that.
I think I'm addicted to these cookies.
Oh, also, don't drop your phone in the mixture :duh: The speaker's stuffed

Glad to have been of service
Those who aren't noticing a big difference, increase the brewers yeast and see if that helps.
Subbing for the recipe! Preggers and breastfeeding right now, I feel like I could use see purely for the caloric boost! But I will save them for after bubba is born, when i know I'll be genuinely ravenous.
I swear by these cookies, but as hubby and I have just started a low carb diet (trying to control sugars Augh!!) am working on a "low carb" variation - it's this weeks project :) If anyone's interested I'm happy to share the recipe :)
this may sound dumb buttttttt - when would you start eating these? like just before the baby is due or after bubs is born?
they sound delicious i want to make some now :D
You can make them anytime - they're good for healthy digestion as well as milk making :)

Thankfully I haven't had any supply issues this time around - fingers crossed it stays this way!
Anyway, I made them with DD2 and they were brilliant. I also heard that Activite is good for your supply too so I ate my cookies and drank activite and my boobs would feel like they were going to explode! I recommended the activite to my sister and it worked for her too. It is so good to drink whilst eating the cookies.
Not again, Audax?! :(
Where do you get brewer's yeast from? tried safeway and coles and iga and couple bottleshops.
I swear the ppl in the local safeway looked at HotI and i like we were odd when we asked for brewers yeast
Hopefully we can find it around here soon and we can give them a go :)
I'd say the health food shop too.
I got brewers yeast from Big W but its just in little sachets. Those of you who have got it from a healthfood store, can you get it in a bigger pack?
Yep, came in a big bag and was very cheap. $6 maybe?
Healthshop came through with the brewer's yeast 250g for $6. cooking tonight
yup, health food shop ... and we grabbed fenugreek and fennell too, for tea.
