Mine are 10mg as well.... oh and my supply is really good today... but my baby STILL won't suck for very long on my left side I think he has a psychological barrier to it or something... he just squirms until he gets to the other side... although last night he was really tired and took a bit longer to notice that he was on my left side... maybe I just need to try feeding him more at those times... or wait until he is starving! LOL thing is I have been demading feeding a lot closer together to get my supply back up... I haven't let him get too hungry.

Thanks again so much Shannon for that extra info!

Update: I've had to cut back to just 3 a day instead of 6 as prescribed because I was getting too full too soon after each feed! Now I've stabilized and as long as i drink enough water all's good! I'm also feeding a little more frequently atm as he is off his food with a cold. Good to know i can control my supply though

my supply has normalised now that I have reduced to 3 tablets a day... it was too much when I was taking 6 per day.

No side effects that I'm aware of! Probably more harm in drinking the Cups-O-Soup that I'm drinking every day to keep myself warm... gotta wean myself off them! (preservatives).

it took 2 weeks to reach over supply.

    Great news Bath !!
I actually only need to take one a day now, and that makes me overfull.. I usually express and store the excess.

Caro: I didn't answer you PM properly... kids manic here ATM... It took about a week and a half of at least 6 tablets a day to get it all going (good supply again)... then I droped back to 3 a day because I was waking up at night uncomfortable. I take them when ever I remember... before food, after food, whenever it doesn't seem to matter.

Well, there you go! 9 tablets a day is pretty full on... I guess body weight might come into it (smaller women might require less). I've only taken 2 tablets today and bubs got enough... I'll have to make sure I tell my doctor.

Prama, don't stop breastfeeding. The more you offer the more you make, the motilium will help boost that along too. But if your not actually feeding from the boob ir's not going to work as good as it can, IYKWIM.

I know the nipples hurt, BTDT, have you tried using nipple shields to protect your nipples ? Mine were cracked, bleeding and scabby, so damn sore. I was told by the Paed that I was starving Abbey and to put her on formula. I stuck to my guns, fed her more and what do you know, I got more milk and she got fatter

The first few weeks are the sorest and hardest to get through hun. Your doing great, don't be too hard on yourself

Thanks Trish. Will start BF again.
I was on a 2 day break cos they were really sore and painful, even with the nipple shield it made me cry. and I wasnt getting any sleep between that and expressing and topping up with formula etc. I was sinking into depression. The 2 day break has done me wonders.
I'm giving it another shot with mitilium...

Sorry to hear that you have had it hard hun. I truelly do believe though if you want it bad enough you will succeed. Abbey ended up in hosp at 10 days with her weight loss, but she was also ill. I survived on no sleep for 4 days and we still got the milk up and happening. My milk was really flowing after this. But yes, I sat there curling my toes and dreading feeds, doing the whole foot thumping thing until she settled on the boob.

I see your bub was a couple of weeks early, Abbey was 3 weeks early, she too had that little tiny mouth that made attachment hard, and cos she was so tired with her jaundice getting a feed into her was near impossible.

Goodluck hun, I'm sure you will do a great job

I will 2nd trish try to feed as much as you can. I started on Motilium 4 weeks ago for a low supply issue and it took 4-5 days for my BB to feel full again. I cut down gradually and have not taken any for 3 days. My BB feel very empty again but i dont want my BFing to rely on It iykwim. I am Expressing as often as i can and i'm keeping an eye on her weight if i have any concerns i wont hesitate to go back to the Dr for some more but for me i found it quite exp as i had to take 6 a day to get my supply back and i'm no good at remembering to take tablets. I do take fenugreek though and find it helps a little. I know how painful nipples can be i've BTDT so to you for trying to get your bub back on the boob

I'm trying to find the MSDS on these drugs. i had trouble B/F my DS and would like to make sure i can B/F the twins as long as poss.

All i have found so far is a huge list of side affects and that its banned in the US. also the aus Gov site i did find said that there has never been a study to determin what affects there is on our babies. just studdies on rets and they all had side affects.

I don't want to scare anyone. honestly i am interested in finding out more if i can.

if anyone knows where i can find the MSDS for this drug i would appreciate it a lot.

    Hi girls,

I have a couple of questions:
Bub is currently on formula, i needed to take a couple of days break from bfing and started motilium today.

    1. how often should i bf now? my nipples are still very sore, I'll be using a nipple shield.
    2. how long after motilium does your milk flow again.
    3. how long can you take it?
