Just wondering how long a 7week old should feed for? DS has just been diagnosed with silent reflux and I'm afraid he's snacking. He will feed (if I'm luck) for 10minutes per side. Sometimes I don't feel that he drains the breast but I can't get him to take more .
He used to feed for up to 30mins per side. Could it ve that he is just getting better at it?
He's getting to be a big boy now - it's likely that he is getting enough in 10 mins of feeding - then he's telling you he wants the other side. Babies do best when they are able to decide - they know what they want. Most babies need 8-12 feeds in 24 hours and will usually have a time of the day where they have a cluster of feeds close together
