11 week old suddenly feeding every 2hrs?

Hey, as the title suggests, I have an 11 week old that suddenly decided he will only take 1 boob per feed, and cries if I try and give him the other side... and then 2hrs later is screaming in starvation for another feed.

Is he just having a growth spurt?!

There is a major growth spurt (Wonder Week) at 12ish weeks - sounds very much like that

Things should settle in a week or two. Hang in there and keep feeding on demand as your DS is simply building up your supply to get him through the spurt and prepare him for a new level of feeding. Things will return to normal soon though.

I found with mine they all had a growth spurt around 3 months, so it sounds like that is what it may be.
He will be stimulating you to supply more to meet his demands as he gets bigger.
It does pass as they settle down with the right amount.

Be careful with the 'unwanted' side - make sure it still gets drained regularly.
My DS2 was very fussy with one side - but eventually evened out. I think one side was more comfortable for him to lie down and maybe had a better flow. Not sure, but favouring one side seems to be a very common complaint.

As for feeding 2 hourly - that sounds very very normal. Keep up the good work. The more you feed him the quicker your supply will catch up. Hope you have a comfy spot on the couch!

Oh sorry I didn't explain, he takes one side...... then 2 hrs later the other... then 2hrs later the other...

he's not favouring one side, he's just getting full quick and then hungry again quick!
