I was going to suggest that you treat bub as well if breastfeeding.

    Thankyou for the replies

Oh IM that must have been horrible , but I can completely understand why you had him off the boob, the pain is horrible and I only have it on one side you must have been beside yourself with both sides

I'll get some inner health plus and have a looka t DD's yogurt and see if it has the natural acidophilous, if not og and get some.

Thanks Indie, I am treating DD2 as well just as a precaution, otheriwse this will become a vicous cycle

We went through it with DD for nearly 3 months. I ended up having to get tablets for it. I was treating both of us but because I am diabetic I had heaps of trouble getting rid of it (thats what the doc told me why it was so persistant)

If you have nipple trush, you can be pretty sure that bub will have an imbalance in their gut too, so treating your gut first. Inner health plus (or similar) is good, homemade yogurt is best - yogurt because it makes it through into the lower intestine, homemade because it is higher in the good bacteria and lower in sugar. Sugar is counter-productive to trush treatment as it feeds it. You could even put some of the yogurt on your nipples if you want. Also, a little bit of sun on them (being careful not to get burned of course) will do wonders.
