I had alot of breast feeding isues with my bub aged 6 weeks. I was recommended a Breast feeding and baby sleep consultant called Terrill Atley. SHe is based in Brisbane and was FANTASTIC. WIthin 1 visit she had my bub breast feeding beautifully and was so reassuring that I did have enough milk. The gPs are hopeless when it comes to giving breast feeding and baby advice. Terrill was so knowledable and I have recommended her to 2 of my friends who said that she helped them sort out their babies who were poor sleepers.

Quick update for where I am now. I am happy to say DS is 7 weeks today and I am still bf'ing tho not exclusively. I'm still trying to build my supply back up after a few days not feeding before I decided not to be bullied. Today DS has only had 1 full bottle and that is because we were out and it's a compromise with DH (bottles while out). He will prob get some ebm (say 60mls) with our last feed and then another full bottle for the dream feed. Only a few days ago he was needing top ups for most feeds. But the top up amount has reduced and seems to have mostly stopped.
I am worried tho that he's not getting enough as he has been diagnosed with silent reflux and feeding him is difficult as he keeps pulling off. And he's also only feeding on one side for 10 minutes and 10 on the other. Just going to keep an eye on his nappies got make sure.
I have figured to stop stressing about the supply and do what I can and that will have to be enough!
That's great news pinklilly, so great to hear.
That's right - keep feeding and keep counting those nappies to reassure yourself. The reflux can make things difficult, I hope it settles down for him soon.
Does your DH have an issue with you feeding while out?
That's great news that you stuck by what you believed in. Good on you.
I found feeding DS lying down was much easier and stopped him from pulling off so much. So maybe experiment with positions.
And your bubba is getting older, so things will get easier - soon.
There are lots of ways to help with increasing supply. But I think relaxing about it, not stressing about it, is the best thing to do.
But if you feel like baking something, those lactation cookies are seriously yummy. Not sure whether they will actually increase supply but hey, they're delicious...
The more you feed the more milk you will make, so put him on the boob as often as you can for a while.
And don't worry, if he has many shorter feeds. My DS used to do that for a little while, to (feed frequently but not for long). They often do that in hot weather, to have a "drink" rather than a feed.
If he is generally settled and happy after a feed, chances are that he's gotten enough.
