I have a success story for you!

We went through 3 months of agony trying to get ds to feed properly, I was in tears most feeds it was so painful. He was almost 3 months when it was finally discovered he had a posterior tongue tie and it was snipped that day. That first feed was painless! From then on I started to heal, ds was happy and gaining weight, we were all happy

I found that expressing was still painful and didn't allow me to heal, so I did give him some formula, to help keep me sane more than anything. Luckily he was more than happy to have a bottle, and had no trouble switching between. Sorry I can't you with tips on that, we were just lucky I guess.

Good luck with your decision, having a 5 hour drive doesn't make it easy at all! There were times when I couldn't see how things were going to get better, I really couldn't. But they did, and they will for you too x
