Thought i would do an update. I now am getting leaking boobs which is a good sign. ATM i am aiming to feed as much as possible during the day and giving a bottle for his last feed and one through the night, mainly because i don't want to disrupt his routine to much of a night since he is doing so well and DP likes to give him a feed as well. If i can build up enough of a supply i will try and express enough so DP can give that for his last feed.
Thanks to everyone you have all been so good and i will pop in every opportunity to give an update.

    TIA

Great job! Sounds like your hard work is really paying off.
Can I tentatively suggest you try bfing during the night also... it's great for your supply. (But totally understand that you don't want to muck up your routine).

ok i have a little time....

Congrats Danni, great work!! It takes time and effort and dedication to relactate, I did it after an 8 week break, all i was getting was a tiny drop of clear fluid out of one breast. On feeding, I found the best way to get my supply up quickly was to BF him over night, it works wonders! So if it's you that is getting up to feed him overnight, if possible, try to BF him then.....it's great.

Ok gotta run..... I'll read the whole thread and come back later.

Dannii, that's brilliant! You've done so well. Rebuilding a supply is hard work, but so worth the effort. Great job!!

One thing i was told was that how ever long it has been since you stopped bf it will take at least that long to get your supply reestablished. If you have a pump, use it and dont worry about amounts, some people can pump like a Jersey cow others (me included) just see a piddly amount.

I took fenugreek tablets (from health food stores) which some people say will help with milk production.

Sorry, hadn't finished reading but I had to butt in Exactly Morgan!! And on the pumping.....I honestly would take me a whole day of pumping (maybe 5 times!) to get 100ml, and it still would. I am still fully BF and cannot pump to save myself.

Well done Danni, you are really on track, by the sounds of it. What an inspiration you are to others who may wonder if they can do the same thing!

    Update time

All seems to be going quite well. I got quite alot of leaking from the left side this morning while feeding on the right. I have cut down around two bottles a day and fully weaned them onto the boob and the other ones i offer the breast first and then the bottle.
Jaxon is sleeping through to 4.30am atm after having his last feed at 8pm, i have to start offering the breast at this feed too. I don't want to wake him overnight 3hrly and i hope this is alright for my supply....will my supply just get used to it??

Hi Danni, well done for being able to give him so much bm already! Supply = demand, you will make milk as you bf him. If you keep increasing the stimulation and number of times you bf Jaxon then your bbs will make the milk to keep up.

Bit of a question regarding expressing, is it all normal to get your first let down and then you get several breaks and several let downs after that? Hope i explained myself properly. Definately getting more from expressing today after more bfeeding yesterday. I also find i am quite full in the morning as he is going quite long overnight now. I am sure the motilium is doing wonders also.

    TIA

Yes, you will get more than one let-down per feed. It's just when a baby is attached you don't notice it!

Thankyou Jennifer for your reply's. Also the last couple of days i have feeding BM alot more, when should i notice a difference especially during the day. Would i get full like when my milk originally come in or will it just increase to his requirements and i just won't feel full as such? I'm a Dcup so i guess you would need a lot of milk to fill them and make you feel real full as such, am i right in saying that?

It depends, if he is taking as much as you can produce you might not feel 'full' as such, except after a longer break when he's not bf for hours. TBH that full feeling went away for me after the first six weeks or so anyway. It doesn't mean there was any less milk, it just meant my body had sorted out how much was needed. Don't take a lack of feeling full as an indication you are no longer making as much. Some Mums never get the feeling at all and have plenty of milk!

Danni, just to let you know, you can actually buy Motilium (without a prescription) getting a prescription from your GP. When I relactated I found that the prescription from the GP didnt last long enough, but I managed to purchase (I think) 600 tablets over the net for a very reasonable price. I just Googled it, it was a US site and I had to wait a couple of weeks for it, but wasn't to bad
