    Thumbs down Thrush :(

Why? Why do we have thrush?
Its hurting & its not fair!

I noticed the white on DD's tongue a few days ago, then started to feel the itch, so pulled out the Nilstat. DD's tongue is clearing up, but just this morning, my right boob absolutely nailed me! It hurts

I'm also a vasospasm sufferer, so, sad as it sounds, just applying the Nilstat to my nipple hurts.

Its not fair. Things were going so well. This is the first time I've had no BFing issues. I got thrush with DD2 & DS as well. Why? Where does it come from? I've heard bottles & dummies, but we don't use them...

Oh I hate this... hope it doesn't last long...

Maybe remember to express a bit of milk on your nipples after a feed and air them for a while, to kill any bugs. Once you've finished with the Nistat treatment of course. Hopefully that will help keep it away once you've gotten rid of it this time.

What kind of breast pads are you using? Make sure they are washed and not left in damp when you leak.

Guess you're just lucky, clover. I had a mastitis predisposition for no real reason, just a bit too much milk. Seems even when you get it right nature throws you a curve ball! I'm glad you know how to recognise and treat it now, which will hopefully resolve it quickly.

Yeah, I think thats the problem... not changing bp's often enough. I'm using maz ones, can't tell when they're wet. really should start changing at every feed again
Been putting dettol in the wash & sunning them well, so hopefully its just the wetness. They shouldn't be holding onto it now...

Try leaving your bbs out til dry after feeds J. Works when I can & it all comes good. Then I have a day out & do everything up straight away & it all starts hurting again coz of the moisture

I know what it's like and it sucks. Make sure you do treat both of you until all symptoms disappear as it does go back and forth

    Love the new avvy!

clover - you might also want to stop using antibacterial products eg dettol as they kill all bacteria ie good and bad. I reckon bleching the pads (and bras etc) between uses is the key. It's a pain to have vasospasm and thrush because airing your nipples is not good for the spasms!!

Was doing all good. Had them almost healed, then they got too dried out & cracked while getting dressed the other night Bleeding & all WTF??

I'm pretty sure the thrush is gone, being careful to keep it that way, but back on the sheilds full time coz of the stupid cracks

6 weeks, it gets easier after 6 weeks. I just gotta keep reminding myself!

Hopefully those cracks will heal quickly. How do you think you are doing with attachment? Do you have an opportunity to see a LC to check on this?

I have, she thought it was maybe a size issue. They're still there, around the outside. When I get home I'll work on healing them again & try being more careful with attaching. We're away atm, so too much happening. Just using the sheilds 99% of the time.

It might also be worth trying different holds until she stops damaging your nipples, like the football hold or lying down (if you can - otherwise, have the LC show you how). How are you doing today?

Yeah, I've done that. Finding holding her so she's sitting up pretty straight kind of facing me is better. Football hold isn't too bad. Doing ok. No bleeding or pain once without the sheilds today.
