    What is it??

So I have sore red nipples. Only on the bottom half of the nipple. It's about one cm and is a semicircle. I tried the moogoo udder cream and that helped but didn't improve it much. Then I thought maybe it was thrush. Dd3 is showing no signs on thrush in her mouth but when I started the daktarin gel she slept so much better over night. But I've been using the gel for 10days now and it seems to improve a tiny bit then wham a bad night with dd and they are shocking again!!

Wondering if it's a dermatitis instead. But then I've fed for 8years and this is the first time something like this has happened......

They crack at the worst times and it's painful to feed but from the nipples not the stabbing pain women talk about.

There are no photos on google....

Also wouldn't it get much worse after two weeks???

Help I really have no idea

Is it where her bottom teeth are grazing during a feed maybe? Is she being a bit lazy in her attachment overnight and inflamming it?

Is she teething? I went through awful pain when my oldest was getting a couple of teeth. I spoke to someone on the ABA helpline and it sounded just like thrush so I tried treating that then I realised after about a week or so that it was his new tooth! It was rubbing my nipple and made it SO sore. Just thought I'd throw the idea at you as I was surprised and with your redness I wonder if it's the same thing.

Oh, and it didn't happen with the next baby. Guess it's because they all have different shaped mouths and attachment so no reason why it can't happen now with your 4th.

it sounds like an infection or dermatitis (are you prone to dermatitis?)
An all-purpose nipple creme on prescription should help if you can't find the exact cause

    Are they itchy too?

I would second getting something like kenacomb which has antifungal, antibacterial and a little bit of cortisone (which will help with the soreness).

    sore nipples suck!
