    What is it this time??

My left breast is tender on the inside section. Feels like mastitis, but no lump, no temperature and no streaking. Just that really bruised feeling. The breast is still soft, not engorged and the nipple doesn't look or feel damaged.

Anyone know what it could be??

I fed dd2 off it overnight and it reduced the tenderness, but it's still there.

I swear I live in this section when I have a baby!

Could be nothing, just a slightly blocked duct? I never had mastitis with DD but had a few blocked duct episodes which felt as you described. I found this worked- keeping a (comfortably) hot compress on the affected area for a while, then massaging with oil, then feeding baby on that side and occasionally massaging/applying pressure to the tender are as she fed. I would also do the pressure/massage while I expressed.

Sounds like it might be a blockage or similar, keep massaging and feeding off that side as you've been doing. How is it feeling now?

    Thanks everyone!

I kept trying to feed her from the bruised side and massaged etc. seems bit better now.

I guess it must have been a blockage. Is started to get a little red spot where it was sore. Started taking echinacea, vitamin c, poke root and olive leaf and I think I may have avoided getting it again this time.

Is rang the aba and the lovely mum on there said considering my history start preparing for the worst. She seems to have been right on the money!
Guess I'm prone to it even with healthy nipples!
