    Breastfeeding and meal replacment

    Hello!
I REALLY want to loose weight for my wedding in october. My baby is 5months old and still breatfeeding. I am thinking of Kate Morgans meal replacment including healthy snacks and dinner.
I supose I just want some opinions about this.
    Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's recommended to use meal replacements while BFing, but I wouldn't have thought so. I'm sure you'd be able to find out if Kate Morgan is recommended for BFing mothers.

You might be better to try something like Weight Watchers. They allow in their program for breastfeeding mothers, and I find their ideas to be very sensible. It's all about a healthy lifestyle, but it does allow for slip ups!

Hi Anjay, meal replacement diets work by drastically cutting the number of kjs you are consuming. IMO they are not a healthy way to lose weight even if you're not breastfeeding, they usually work in the short term but can create problems in teh long term as your body gets used to starving. If you are breastfeeding, much better to see a dietician or even join somewhere like Weight Watchers or Lite-n-Easy where they will calculate the extra calories you need to be eating while still losing weight at a healthy rate.

Good luck, and enjoy planning your wedding!

Thanks for the replies guys... It is a good idea not to look for the quick fix. But compared to what i usually eat I think the replacment shakes are proberly better, coz they include vitamins, iron etc. They just will give me structure. The lady at Kate morgan told me today to add in a few more healthy snacks, and to take a multi V and iron and my breast milk and I should be fine. Lucky Ive never had supply issues! Im a good cow.

LOL @ good cow! You should know if it's too drastic because you'll be insanely hungry all the time.
