No, its only $7000. She may be confused because there was a FHOG years ago of $14000, i think it was back in the John Howard days. It was to boost the market for a while i think.
We actually got $11000, in december, because we live in a rural area and bought a brand new home. So i think there are some exceptions. Your bank or mortgage broker will tell you for sure.
Thanks Jaki, I thought I was right. She isnt confusing it with the JH days, just thought that everyone individually was entitled to it, so there for combined it would be $14,000, no way the government would be that generous. We are rural enough to so might qualify for the extra $4k depending if we buy or build. its all very exciting
You can find out exactly what you entitled to by checking out the office of state revenue website. It has all the info about eligibility for the extra regional grant of $4,000, from what I gather it has to be a new house
Thanks Fuzzy, that was the site my mother and I were looking at to try and find the answers. It doesnt actually say anywhere, only 1 grant per household, at least not that we found. It says that you have to put your partner down no matter what but doesnt actually say you both arent entitled to it. Unless we missed that paragraph.
[-]I’m buying a property with my partner and a friend—can we get multiple grants?
No. Only one grant is paid for an eligible property transaction*regardless of the number of people who buy or build the home.*
