Given the choice, which would you accept?

Now you are getting tough... Um how dodgy, and how much better is is that the other one. Would you feel happy living in that neighbourhood, in relative style? Or prefer to live in the better neighbourhood and give up a bit of comfort. Is there anything you could do to improve the internals of the other place?

I havent really answered you have I... sorry...It is hard with renting, you need to be able to live there, and feel comfortable...

Yeah, but I'm a bit of a...I guess some would say "snobby" person. I myself look at houses as I drive past and think either "gee, they must be well off" or "yuck, they must be derros". I know, that's terrible of me. But I wouldn't want someone to drive past my home and think we were derros IYKWIM...I think I should get over myself!

Gardens aren't so hard or $$ to pretty up - so long as your not scared of a bit of manual labour - so I would be just concentrating on inside comfyness for now.

i like ppl thinking i have crap inside my hosue as my garden arnt to perfect that way no one will think i have value inside and rip me off i do tho feel safe in my home and area.

Hmmm I guess another thing to consider for you would be a nice lookin ghouse in a nice area might be more appealing to a burgler .... a derro looking place from the outside might not be as appealing

I would also ditch both and look for something you were happy with - afterall its your money paying for it so you have to be happy with it.

Hmm well I think I'd rather protect my family and make sure we were reasonably comfortable than worry about what people thought of my house when they drove past. We don't currently live in a good area (cheapest suburb on the Sunshine Coast) and my house looks like crap from the outside - but I'm not going to rent somewhere or buy out of my budget just so people don't think I'm a derro. If people already have those distinctions between people in their heads - well they're not really someone I would be friends with and care about their opinions!

Well I have a lovely home that is dog ugly from the front. I'm very happy here. Friends love my house as well - it has a really nice 'feeling' to it is the only way I can explain it. So I suggest you choose the house that 'feels' the best to you when you're standing right in the middle of it.
