Question Given the choice, which would you accept?

I'm not in this position yet, but may well be soon.
Currently looking for a new house to rent. If you had the choice between a house that looked totally aweful on the outside but nice on the inside and one that looked fairly good on the outside but average on the inside, which would you take?

Nice on the inside and try to do something with the garden... Better to be comfortable inside I think... Good luck house hunting hun. xo

What about if the nice on the inside bad on the outside one is in a bit of a dodgy neighbourhood? Would you still take it because it looks good on the inside?

Personally I would stear clear of dodgy neighbourhoods... we are in a rental that is nice inside and out but the neighbours are horrid!! We had been living in it for three days before calling the cops at 2.30 on a Wednesday morning. 5 months in and we have the police stations' number on speed dial! We are hoping to buy but may have to find another rental in the meantime (the one we are in is on the market and under contract) and this time I will send DP out to explore the neighbourhood late at night to see what it's really like!!

Now you are getting tough... Um how dodgy, and how much better is is that the other one. Would you feel happy living in that neighbourhood, in relative style? Or prefer to live in the better neighbourhood and give up a bit of comfort. Is there anything you could do to improve the internals of the other place?

I havent really answered you have I... sorry...It is hard with renting, you need to be able to live there, and feel comfortable...

Not sure how good/bad the places are yet. Looking at one today and another one tomorrow (and maybe another one on Friday if these other 2 aren't good enough/we don't get them)
