I'm driving the car over. $1000 in petrol for the car v's about $1500 in flights plus the car just isn't worth it.
I'll more than likely just do the trailer again I'd say. One way trailer hire was around $1000 for 10 days. Or I hand dad over the $500 I get selling my trailer & he buys a 10x6 that I take home with my things on it.
I did the drop at different location Lime, but it came back with POA. So I must have to wait for an email. Just assuming it'll be pricey from that!
I think I'll just plan on taking mum with me for back up (less space in the car) & the 10x6 trailer. Just need to find another company with good prices since UHaul now have none left, or find one for dad.. Budget weren't so cheap. About twice the price!
Trailer hire company seem to have nothing left. Have tried different dates. There were a few last week. Will keep checking.
Trailer dad was looking at buying are about twice the price he was willing to pay.
I think everything else will be too expensive for me. Only option then would be to sell up... But I really don't want to do that!
Or just give it another 12 months. Then I'll have supplement payments behind me. Keeping it in mind anyway... I know the locals (the true locals) would give anything for us to stay.
Will see what happens when I get all my quotes back, hopefully tomorrow.
We used Conroys moving from Q to WA. We also had our cars shipped too (at different times). We managed to find cheap flights and by the time we factored in an overnight stay (or two), meals, car wear and tear/petrol and a grumpy toddler, it was cheaper to do that than drive. Friends got cheaper container rates going back east (Vic) by getting a return container (that had done one way but was empty going home).
