Go with pros I've never had insurance I guess it depends on what you have to move.
We have done both and definitely don't recommend the DIY, it's stressful enough moving without then being physically exhausted after lifting stuff all day

With the insurance - have you got stuff you need insured (expensive paintings, cars etc)? Will your home and contents cover you?
