One step forward, five hundred back - Whinge

I'm starting to get really cross with DH, and short of saying so and it ending up an argument, going to have a whinge in here if that's okay.

So we're trying to get the house ready for sale. It's taking it's time. Weather hasn't been good to us. Money hasn't been good to us. But week by week we're getting closer.

Today I go outside and the bench that he built is now flaking and peeling where it's been painted. Naturally, that's my fault. I mustn't have let it dry properly before I painted it. He used a plaster sealer thing and I don't think it's meant for outside.

Sweeping the driveway today. Our driveway is paved and cream in colour. Or so I thought. No, a couple of weeks ago, he spilt a bag of quick set and the dust went all over the driveway. He didn't bother cleaning it up, thinking it'd be okay because it was a thin layer of dust. Then it rained. Quick set dust set. Then he tries to clean it with the high pressure hose. Nope. Half my cream driveway is now grey. But that's okay, he says. We'll just get some concrete paint and give it a freshen up.

Sunny day here today, first one in ages. He switches work around so he can do work outside here. Decide we'll get our path in, so need to go to hire a compactor and go to the nursery to get the toppings for the path. Tells me he needs probably a whole day. Only a little path. But he faffs around inside on the computer for half a day.

    GAHHHHH!

I just want to live in my finished house for a moment. I want it finished for ME. I want to stand back and say, hey, my house is done and we did it ourselves.

Massive hugs. We are trying to do the same (finish and sell up) its so difficult with lack of funds has dh had to take time off work for DS3 and now the long weekend coming up (bills too so puts us behind in getting things done) its very frustrating we spent over a thousand on the backyard for grass and it died! So have to do it all again.
I hope things get better, and your house will be finished soon xxx

Time to eat my hat I guess

The path is in. He worked like a freaking machine. I've never seen him shovel so fast in all my life. Now onto the other jobs!
