i disagree, i think you should leave a few photographs and personal items around the house as it gives it warmth and a homely feel. it also allows potential buyers to imagine the house lived in. otherwise it can look like a display home.
the two rooms potential buyers look at the closest are the kitchen and bathroom. are these rooms appealing? if not, what can you do to improve?
also, look at the exterior, such as the front garden and front of house. would a potential buyer driving buy be tempted to stop and look further? if not, start weeding, etc...
